Island Luau Tropical Smoothie
I’ve professed my love for smoothies plenty of times on this blog but I feel the need to say it again, I freakin LOVE smoothies!! I blame you all for getting me temporarily hooked to Jamba Juice last year. Luckily the addiction wasn’t as strong as my McDonalds real fruit smoothie addiction and I was able to kick it within a month.
Mainly because Jamba Juice is so easy to recreate at home with so many cloned recipes floating around the web. If I was to ever have a little cafe I would serve up smoothies and wraps. I’m the queen at making a good smoothie and a banging wrap honey! Try me!! Today I want to share with you this easy, refreshing, delicious recipe for an Island Luau Tropical Smoothie.
I made this a couple years ago when I had a family luau. I wasn’t expecting it to be that great just needed something quick, cold and refreshing to serve up to guests who arrived 2 hours early. This smoothie hit the spot and got rave reviews. Everyone claimed it had “a little something in it” because it left them feeling rather bubbly. My family is always claiming drinks has a lil sum sum in them lol. I think we’re wanna-be lushes.
Anywho, about this tropical smoothie!! It’s the bomb. So make it, m-kay. I just love that slight hint of sweet coconut that the cream of coconut lends to this drink. The frozen strawberries, bananas and mangos are like a match made in heaven. Next time I think I’ll throw in some papaya! Oooh lala!! I’m really not an orange sherbet person but in this smoothie it WORKS and it’s a must to kick up that yummy tropical flavor.
I’d almost want to call this a dessert smoothie because it’s sweet, thick and pretty filling.
I made this once using pineapple juice and frozen pineapples because it totally seems like a winner right? Me no likey! Something about the pineapple and orange juice left a weird aftertaste. I replaced them both with apple juice and yasssss ma’am it was just what this smoothie needed. Whodathunkit!
Watch me make this Aloha Tropical Smoothie from start to finish!
