Fruit & Cheese Kabobs- Easy Cookout Appetizer
Cookouts, BBQ’s, Picnics Oh My!! Summer will be here before you know it! I’ve already had a few cookouts this year and let me tell you what I’ve learned when it comes to my family; always, always, ALWAYS have a snack prepared for guests to munch on while the food is finishing up. Do you normally have cookout appetizers available? I don’t know why this is just now registering with me.
There always seem to be something taking forever on the grill and holding things up. Smelling food cooking and not being able to eat it makes people really irritable. Eventually my uncles start sneaking bites of the side dishes and the kids get cranky. Wanna know the weapon of choice I’ve been using? Fruit and cheese kabobs! Fun, portable, easy and quick. Adults love them and kids can’t get enough of them. Not to mention there is just something fun about eating food on a stick. These fruit and cheese kabobs come together in a snap using sweet strawberries, juicy grapes, and Cracker Barrel‘s flavorful, award-winning cheeses in a mild and sweet baby Swiss and bold and flavorful Vermont Sharp White Cheddar cheese. NOTE: You can certainly use other flavors of cheese just be sure it’s a softer cheese that won’t split during the skewing process. The Vermont Sharp has a pretty firm texture, but I just HAD to have it so I let it sit out to soften up a bit and then I VERY carefully threaded it onto the skewer. Not only do these fruit and cheese kabobs make awesome cookout appetizers but they’re a great way to bring in National Cheese day on June 4th!! Happy cheese eating!!!
